Critical Health Alerts

ClapDiet may display critical alerts when something needs immediate attention.

What Are Critical Alerts?

Critical alerts appear when:

  • Lab values are in dangerous ranges
  • Severe food-drug interactions are detected
  • Patterns suggest urgent concern
  • Alert Appearance

    Visual Indicators

  • 🔴 Red banner at top of screen
  • Alert icon (!) prominent
  • Bold text
  • Can't be easily dismissed
  • Alert Content

    Each alert includes:

  • What triggered it
  • Why it's concerning
  • Recommended action
  • Option to acknowledge
  • Types of Critical Alerts

    Lab Value Alerts

    When uploaded lab results show:

  • Critically high or low potassium
  • Severely low hemoglobin
  • Dangerous glucose levels
  • Other critical values
  • Action: "Contact your healthcare provider immediately"

    Medication Interaction Alerts

    When you log food that severely interacts:

  • MAOIs + tyramine (can cause hypertensive crisis)
  • Certain drugs + specific foods
  • Action: Avoid the combination; contact provider if consumed

    Pattern Alerts

    When tracking reveals concerning patterns:

  • Consistently very low intake
  • Dangerous nutrient patterns
  • Signs of potential eating disorder
  • Action: Seek appropriate support

    Responding to Alerts

    Don't Panic

    Alerts are precautionary:

  • They're triggered by data patterns
  • Context matters
  • False positives happen
  • Do Take Action

    Alerts deserve attention:

  • Read the full alert
  • Understand the concern
  • Follow recommended steps
  • When to Seek Immediate Care

    Go to emergency care if you experience:

  • Chest pain
  • Severe weakness
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Confusion
  • Symptoms alongside a critical alert
  • Acknowledging Alerts

    To dismiss an alert:

  • Read the full message
  • Tap "I Understand"
  • Alert will be logged but dismissed
  • May reappear if condition persists
  • Alert History

    View past alerts:

  • Go to Settings > Alert History
  • See all alerts received
  • Review what was recommended
  • Share with healthcare providers
  • Adjusting Alert Settings

    Can I Turn Off Critical Alerts?

    No. Critical alerts are designed for safety and cannot be disabled.

    Other Alert Settings

    Less critical alerts can be adjusted:

  • Go to Settings > Notifications
  • Adjust non-critical alert preferences
  • For Healthcare Providers

    If you're a patient sharing with a provider:

  • Export alert history
  • Include context (what you were doing)
  • Discuss patterns
