Notification Settings

Set up helpful reminders without being overwhelmed.

Notification Types

Meal Reminders

Get reminded to log your meals:

  • Breakfast reminder
  • Lunch reminder
  • Dinner reminder
  • Snack reminders
  • Hydration Reminders

    Stay on track with water intake:

  • Hourly reminders
  • Goal progress alerts
  • Customizable frequency
  • Health Alerts

    Important notifications:

  • Lab results ready
  • Critical health interactions
  • Medication reminders
  • Progress Updates

    Stay motivated:

  • Weekly summaries
  • Streak alerts
  • Achievement unlocks
  • Goal milestones
  • Configuring Notifications

    In the App

  • Go to Settings > Notifications
  • Toggle categories on/off
  • Set reminder times
  • Customize frequency
  • Per-Category Settings

    Meal Reminders:
  • Enable/disable each meal
  • Set custom times
  • Choose days of week
  • Hydration:
  • Frequency (hourly, every 2 hours, etc.)
  • Quiet hours (no reminders during sleep)
  • Active hours only
  • Health Alerts:
  • Always on (recommended)
  • Can't be disabled for critical alerts
  • Quiet Hours

    Set times when notifications are silenced:

  • Go to Settings > Notifications > Quiet Hours
  • Set start time (e.g., 10 PM)
  • Set end time (e.g., 7 AM)
  • Critical alerts still come through
  • Do Not Disturb Respect

    ClapDiet respects your phone's Do Not Disturb:

  • iOS: Follows Focus modes
  • Android: Respects DND settings
  • Exception: Critical health alerts may override.

    Notification Sound

    iOS

    Uses default notification sound. Customize in iOS Settings > ClapDiet.

    Android

  • Go to Settings > Notifications > Sound
  • Choose notification sound
  • Set vibration pattern
  • Badge Icons

    App icon badges show:

  • Unread notifications
  • Pending actions
  • Meal reminders
  • Turn off badges:

  • iOS: Settings > ClapDiet > Badges
  • Android: Settings > Notifications > Show Badges

    Troubleshooting

    Not Receiving Notifications

    Check App Settings:

    Settings > Notifications > Ensure enabled

    Check Phone Settings:
  • iOS: Settings > ClapDiet > Notifications > Allow
  • Android: Settings > Apps > ClapDiet > Notifications > On
  • Check Battery Optimization (Android):

    Settings > Apps > ClapDiet > Battery > Unrestricted

    Too Many Notifications

    Reduce frequency or disable categories you don't need.
