Cuisine Preferences

Set your favorite cuisines for culturally relevant recommendations

3 min readUpdated Sep 2, 2026

Your cuisine preferences are the cuisines you tick on your phone's Dietary

Preferences screen. They are read by exactly one thing: the AI meal plan

generator.

Saving them

  • Open Profile on your phone and tap Dietary Preferences
  • Under Cuisine Preferences, tick the cuisines you enjoy
  • Tap Save Preferences
  • The web cannot edit these yet. It reads what the phone saved.

    Where they are used

  • AI meal plans. When you generate a plan without ticking any cuisines on the form, the generator passes your saved cuisines to the AI. If you tick cuisines on the form, those are used instead — the form wins for that plan only, and your saved list is untouched.
  • Nowhere else. Food recommendations do not weigh cuisine, and the recipe catalogue is browsed by region — its chips are the regions the 29 recipes actually span, not your preferences.
  • Per-plan cuisines

Both generators offer the same ten cuisines on the form: American, Japanese,

Italian, Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Korean, Mediterranean, Thai and French.

Your saved list can hold cuisines outside these ten; the AI reads them as

words, so any cuisine you can name is understood.
