What ClapDiet does on Android, and what it does not do yet.
Fingerprint Login
Sign in with your fingerprint instead of typing your password:
Your fingerprint never reaches ClapDiet. Android tells the app only whether the
check passed.
Camera
The camera is used for two things: scanning the barcode on a packaged food, and
photographing a lab report to upload. ClapDiet asks for camera access the first
time you use one of them, not at launch.
Notifications
Meal reminders, water reminders, the weekly summary and critical health alerts
are separate switches under Settings > Notifications. Three further
switches on that screen do not send anything yet —
Notification Settings says which.On Android 13 and later the system asks for notification permission once. If you
decline it, the in-app switches change nothing until you grant it in Android
Settings.
Tablets
ClapDiet runs full screen on tablets and works in split screen:
App Links
ClapDiet is set up to open clapdiet.com links itself rather than in your
browser, but this is not working yet: the final step is a small file that
clapdiet.com has to serve for Android to verify the association, and it is not
published. Links open in your browser for now.
Not in the app on Android
These get asked about often enough to be worth naming plainly. None of them
exists today, and none has a date:
either. Weight, water and nutrition are logged in the app only.
log water in ClapDiet" will not work.
