What ClapDiet does on iPhone and iPad, and what it does not

What ClapDiet does on iPhone and iPad, and what it does not do yet.

Face ID / Touch ID

Sign in with biometrics instead of typing your password:

  • Go to Settings > Security
  • Enable Biometric Login
  • Confirm with your password
  • Next sign-in uses Face ID or Touch ID
  • Your face and fingerprint never reach ClapDiet. iOS tells the app only whether

    the check passed.

    Camera

The camera is used for two things: scanning the barcode on a packaged food, and

photographing a lab report to upload. ClapDiet asks for camera access the first

time you use one of them, not at launch.

    Notifications

Meal reminders, water reminders, the weekly summary and critical health alerts

are separate switches under Settings > Notifications. Three further

switches on that screen do not send anything yet —

    Notification Settings says which.

Turning the permission off in iOS Settings silences all of them, and the in-app

switches then change nothing until you turn it back on.

    iPad

ClapDiet runs full screen on iPad and works in Split View, so you can keep a

recipe or a lab report beside another app.

There are no iPad keyboard shortcuts.

    Universal Links

ClapDiet is set up to open clapdiet.com links itself rather than in Safari, but

this is not working yet: the final step is a small file that clapdiet.com

has to serve for Apple to trust the association, and it is not published. Links

    open in Safari for now.

Not in the app on iOS

These get asked about often enough to be worth naming plainly. None of them

exists today, and none has a date:

  • Apple Health. ClapDiet neither reads from nor writes to Apple Health.
  • Weight, water and nutrition are logged in the app only.

  • Home Screen widgets. There is no ClapDiet widget to add.
  • Siri Shortcuts. ClapDiet exposes no Siri actions, so "Hey Siri, log water
  • with ClapDiet" will not work.

  • Share Sheet. You cannot share a recipe, a link or an image into ClapDiet
  • from another app.

  • Apple Watch. There is no watch app.
  • Location. ClapDiet asks for no location permission and holds no location
  • data.

If one of these is what you need, tell us.
